ATS hosts plant tours across U.S.

Automation.com

October 2, 2008 — Advanced Technology Services is hosting a series of plant tours across the U.S., showcasing key strategies and tactics that improve factory performance, cut costly downtime and protect these businesses against recession.

The company invites local manufacturers to join them on a guided visit to the factory floor that provides an "up close" look at ATS' maintenance programs in action. Attendees will witness first hand the strategic advantage that comes from a targeted maintenance program. ATS pioneered the factory asset maintenance business over twenty years ago.

The tour couldn't be timelier, given the current economic environment. In a Nielsen Research survey conducted of 100 U.S. senior manufacturing executives with titles of CEO, CIO, Vice President and Plant Manager, two-thirds said they would outsource maintenance as a hedge against a downturn in the economy.

Bellwether manufacturers like Honda, Caterpillar, Eaton and MasterBrand have already adopted this strategy. Outsourcing the care and maintenance of their factory assets to ATS enables them to stay focused on their core competencies. And by implementing proactive and preventive maintenance programs from ATS, they have dramatically reduced downtime. Manufacturers say downtime is expensive, costing an average $22,000 per minute – that's as much as $31M per day - when production stops.

2009 Plant tour dates and hosts include:

May 5, 2009- Greenville, South Carolina

May 6, 2009- Sarasota, Florida

May 12, 2009- Springfield, Missouri

May 20, 2009- Charlotte, North Carolina

May 21, 2009- Auburn, Alabama

Participants are invited to join a plant tour to ask tough questions, examine ATS' performance metrics and learn more about the preventive and proactive maintenance strategies that help improve the productivity and profitability of the factory's most valuable assets.
