Parent

Parent By 2012, 90 percent of jobs will require some education beyond high school and career opportunities in fields like Mechatronics are predicted to be higher than average. This means that if your son or daughter enrolls in a Mechatronics Technology program, he/she will be in a career field with opportunities for growth, competitive wages and job security.

Mechatronics combines elements of electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanics, information technology, computers, and robotics. If your son or daughter likes to work with highly automated equipment, computer interfacing and simulation software, this may be an excellent career choice.

The TechReadySC curriculum is designed to provide the training necessary to begin a career in this growing field by earning an Associate Degree in Occupational Technology with a major in Mechatronics Technology or a Certificate in Mechatronics from one of five Upstate South Carolina technical and community colleges.
